Privacy policy: almost nothing, and here is the almost

Most privacy policies describe tooling the site does not have. This one describes what pi-coin.app is: a static website of pre-built pages, with no accounts, no comment system, no newsletter and no analytics package. There is nothing here to build a profile with, which makes for a short document.

What we collect

Directly, essentially nothing. There is no registration and no server-side form here — the form on our contact page is a mailto: link that opens your own mail client, so nothing you type into it is transmitted to or stored by us. We run no analytics, no ad network, no pixels and no fingerprinting.

Server logs and the host

Every web server records requests, and ours is no exception. Those logs are created and retained by our hosting provider as our processor, and typically contain your IP address, the time, the page requested, the HTTP status, your user-agent string and sometimes a referring URL. They exist for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults.

We do not mine them for marketing, join them to anything else, or try to identify individuals from them. Retention is set by the host, not us, and is generally short. If you need the exact period for a formal request, email us and we will ask.

Cookies

Outbound affiliate links

Two buttons on this site are affiliate links to a third-party exchange, tagged nofollow sponsored. Clicking one is an ordinary outbound link. What that means for your data: the destination receives a request from your browser, so it can see your IP address, your user-agent and — from the URL or referrer — that you arrived from us. It may then set its own cookies and apply its own tracking, under its privacy policy rather than ours.

We receive no personal data back. Affiliate reporting reaches us as aggregate counts, not identifiable people. If you would rather not be counted, do not click the buttons — nothing here is gated behind them.

Fonts loaded from Google

Being straight about the one third-party request we do make: our pages load Space Grotesk, IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Mono from Google's font servers at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Your browser contacts Google directly, so Google can see your IP address, your browser and operating system, and the page requesting the font. That happens under Google's terms, not ours, and Google is a US company, so it may involve a transfer outside the EEA and UK.

We use the fonts for typography, not tracking, and receive nothing from Google. A content blocker prevents the call, and the site degrades gracefully to system fonts.

If you email us

When you write to contact@pi-coin.app we receive whatever is in the message — your address, your name if you sign it, and the content. We keep it only as long as it is useful for handling your point, and use it for nothing else. No mailing list exists, so you cannot be added to one.

GDPR and UK GDPR

For readers in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: where we process personal data at all, the lawful basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) — keeping the site available and secure, and replying to correspondence you started. We ask for no consent because we run nothing needing it, and we make no automated decisions and no profiles.

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, plus the right to complain to your national supervisory authority. Send requests to the address above; we aim to reply within one month. Expect us to hold nothing beyond your own emails, because no identifier here links a log entry to a person.

California rights

Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, California residents may ask what personal information a business has collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of its sale or sharing. We collect no categories beyond the technical data in host logs and any email you send us. We do not sell or share personal information and never have, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we will not discriminate against anyone for exercising a right.

We claim no compliance certification, audit or seal. This policy describes what the site does; it is not a legal opinion about it.

Children's privacy

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and there is no mechanism here through which a child could submit any. If you believe a child has emailed us, write to contact@pi-coin.app and we will delete it.
